When you start looking for your dream home, it’s very likely that the last thing on your mind is its septic tank. You’re looking at kitchen layouts, master en suites, storage space, and a bonus room for the kids to play. However, when you find out the home has a septic tank, you need to do more than say, “Oh okay, that’s fine.”
A septic system requires attention from homeowners. While you don’t have to mess with city utilities, you can’t just forget about your septic tank. That’s why it’s important for home buyers to understand what they’re getting into prior to purchasing a home. Phil, Joyce, and the entire team at ProTech Home & Property Inspections, Inc. encourage you to consider getting a septic tank inspection before you make your home purchase complete.
What is a septic inspection?
A septic-tank inspection from us is a visual assessment of the system’s functionality (versus an invasive septic inspection). We take 500 gallons of water and run it through your tank. A few common problems that we watch out for include:
- Septic backup
- Improperly functioning drainage field
- System that doesn’t operate well overall
This type of inspection should help you know whether major issues exist. From there, you may decide to get a more invasive inspection or decide to move on to a different home.
How do I schedule a septic-tank inspection?
You can schedule a septic-tank inspection on its own or as an add-on to our basic home inspection. You can make that appointment in one of two ways:
- By phone: Call us at (770) 277-5655 during regular business hours. Phil, Joyce, or one of our other team members will set up an appointment that works for you.
- Online: Use our online scheduling tool to make your appointment any time day or night. Our team will be in touch.
